As owner and CEO of McBride & Associates, Dave has 37 years’ experience in managing associations and non-profit organizations. He founded McBride & Associates, Inc. in 1983 and since that time has served as the chief staff executive for more than a dozen non-profit organizations. He served as Public Relations Director for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce following graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a journalism degree. He became Director of Communication and Education for the Nebraska Bankers Association and formed McBride & Associates in July of 1983. Dave has helped lead more than two dozen associations and non-profit organizations to enhancements in governance, increased engagement of volunteers, expansion of membership value, and development of financial resources. He has managed legislative/advocacy/government relations activities of several clients and serves as a registered lobbyist at the Nebraska Legislature. He is a past chairman of the Association Executives Advisory Council for a national trade association; has served as a lecturer, panelist and presenter on association management topics at association management conferences; has served on multiple national committees for client organizations; and is a national award recipient for excellence in association management.
Dave has been involved in many community activities and is the recipient of various awards and recognition for service and achievement. In 2016, Dave received the Optometric Executive of the Year Award from the North Central States Optometric Council. In 2013, he received the Vision Service Award from the Heart of America Contact Lens Society. In 2006, he received the top honor from the NAIFA National Board of Trustees for excellence in association management, as well as being honored by the NOA and NAIFA-NE Boards of Directors for exemplary service to the associations. He has also been cited by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and is an honored member of Who’s Who in U.S. Executives.
Dave is a member of ASAE, the Nebraska Society of Association Executives (NSAE), Leadership Lincoln Alumni Association and International Association of Optometric Executives, in addition to serving on the Pershing Auditorium Advisory Board.
